2 musical acts announced for Wednesday of fair week

The Washington Parish Fair Stage Committee is excited to announce the main stage entertainment for the first full day of the fair on Wednesday, Oct. 17.
A fair favorite, The Baker Family, will be performing at 6 p.m., followed by the The Isaacs at 7 p.m.
The Baker Family have previously been a featured act at the Down by the Branch Stage, and because of popular demand they will be moving to the main stage. The Bakers are a bluegrass, gospel and classic country band from south-central Missouri. They have appeared on Season 12 of America’s Got Talent, RFD-TV’s The Bluegrass Trail, and PBS’s Great American Bluegrass. The group consists of mom Carrie, sons Trustin and Elijah and daughter Carina. They were named 2016 International Country Gospel Music Association Bluegrass Band of the Year.
The Isaacs are a multi-award winning family group who began singing 35 years ago are based out of Hendersonville, Tenn. The vocalists are mother Lily Isaacs and siblings Ben Isaacs, Sonya Isaacs Yeary and Rebecca Isaacs Bowman. Playing their own acoustic instruments and joined by other band members, The Isaacs have a unique style that blends tight family harmony with contemporary acoustic instrumentation that appeals to a variety of audiences. Their musical style has been influenced by many genres of music including bluegrass, rhythm and blues, folk, and country, contemporary, acoustic and southern gospel.
They perform frequently at the Grand Ole Opry, are active members on the Gaither Homecoming Videos and Concert Series, and travel internationally throughout the year to perform in countries such as South Africa, Norway, Holland, Scotland, Ireland, Israel and Canada. They have been nominated at and performed on the Dove Awards, IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) and NQC (National Quartet Convention) Awards, the ICMA Awards (Inspirational Christian Country). Other notable performances include CMA Fan Fest (Country Music Fan Fest), and Carnegie Hall. The Isaacs have won several Doves in various categories and have had several Grammy nominations in their career.
