Andrew Wesley Harrington Jr. was born on July 20, 1954, in New Orleans, to the late Curtis Lee (McCray) Harington and Andrew Harrington Sr.

He was a 1970 graduate of Eva Gardens High School in Magnolia, Miss. He also attended Valley State University in Mississippi, where he received his bachelor’s degree. He was the first black fireman in the City of Bogalusa.

He leaves to cherish his memories: four children, Sharonda Roberts, Trakemia (Broderick) Chatman, Wesley Magee, and Anderila Marsha Miller, all of Bogalusa; one sister, Kim McClinton of Bogalusa; one uncle, Willie (Beris) McCray of Bogalusa; one aunt, Josephine McCray of Terrell, Texas; one sister-in-law, Hazel Harrington of Bogalusa; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of Bogalusa.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Lee (McCray) Harrington and Andrew Harrington Sr.; two brothers, Gerald and Michael Harrington; sister, Katherine Weary; great-niece Niklya McClinton; aunt, Shirley Freeman; brother-in-law, Jesse McClinton; and uncle, Robert Charles McCray.
The Funeral Service will be held Friday, July 12, at noon, at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa, with Elder Gregory Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in the Bogalusa Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the noon time of the service.
