William ‘Mike’ Dunaway

William “Mike” Dunaway passed away Thursday, June 27, 2019, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital, at the age of 67. He was retired from Rayburn Correctional Center as a lieutenant colonel.

“Mike” is survived by his loving soulmate of 14 years, Daisy Blackwell of Bogalusa; one stepson, Brent Jarrell of Bogalusa; one grandson, Landyn Jarrell of Bogalusa; one special nephew, Randy Garza of Bogalusa; and also one special niece, Michelle Dunaway of Abita Springs. He is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.

“Mike” is preceded in death by his parents, Buford Paul and Mattie Lee Dunaway; two sisters, Brenda Dunaway and Wanda Fay Hodge; and two brothers, Robert Hodge and James Irvine.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 2, at noon. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 1, from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m., with visitation resuming at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, until the service time. The Rev. Pete Underwood will officiate. Interment will immediately follow at Kennedy Cemetery in Buck Branch, Miss.
