On Monday, the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Jermaine Detron Anders, 28, a resident of Annie David Road, on multiple charges, including the possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to WPSO Chief Deputy Mike Haley.

Other charges included aggravated assault with a firearm, intimidating a witness and two counts of failure to appear in court, Haley said.

Haley said that Anders is no stranger to the Washington Parish Jail, having been incarcerated on five previous occasions beginning in December of 2008. Previous charges were disturbing the peace, criminal damage to property, domestic abuse of a pregnant woman, and three counts of failure to appear in court.

Anders’ bond was set at $2,350.

“Is it possible Mr. Anders likes our parish jail?” asked Sheriff Randy Seal. “There must be some attraction, since he continues to return. Hopefully, one of these arrests will serve as a wake-up call for him to change his direction in life.”

Sheriff’s deputies confiscated this baggie of crack cocaine in connection with Anders’ arrest.
