Sis. Annie Lee Magee was born March 11, 1932, in Bogalusa, to the late Lorena Bolton Jackson and Andrew Jackson. She was married to Carl Magee and six children were born. She was a great mother. She attended night school to obtain her GED to obtain an education, while maintaining humility.
A beautiful Angel has left this place and walked into the arms of Jesus. A light will shine because of the legacy she left behind. She will be singing, “I woke up with my mind stayed on Jesus, I’m walking and talking with my mind on the Lord.”
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lorena Bolton Jackson and father, Andrew Jackson; sisters, Ora Lee Fordham, Ida Mae Curtis, Nellie Cameron, and Charles Peters; and favorite cousins, the Rev. Louis Brown Jr., and Robert Adams.
Sis Annie Lee Magee was encouraged by Psalm 105:4 to look to the Lord and his strength, seek his face always.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories her six children, Evangelist Mary (Rev. Larry Lucas), Carl Magee, Edward Magee, Linda Hillery, Brenda Brown (Rodney) and Michael Magee; two grandchildren she reared, Leekiba Gholar and Breal Hillery; one sister, Josie T. Vaughn of Baton Rouge; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; special nieces, Mary Winn, Rev. Louise Fordham, Devotion Cameron, Diane Cameron, Eloise Peters, Antoinette Peters, and Michelle Alexander; nephews, Wesley Cameron, Larry Cameron, Richard Curtis and Vincent Winn; and host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 22, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., followed by a family hour from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Bogalusa.
