Bobbie Carter

Bobbie Stogner Carter, a native of the Stateline community and a resident of Angie, was born Sept. 25, 1935, and passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at Our Lady of Angels Hospital in Bogalusa. She was 83.

She is survived by her daughter, Dale (Willmon) Freeman of Angie; five grandchildren, Tim (Jennifer) Freeman of Orange, Texas, Tom (Leana) Freeman of Varnado, Angela (George) Thurmond of Varnado, Aaron (Robin) Freeman of Lake Wylie, S.C., and Shane (Ashley) Freeman of York, S.C. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel Carter; mother, Lillie Glover; father, Eli Stogner; sister, Edwina Kinsey; and brother, Willie J. Stogner.

Funeral services were held in the chapel of Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Friday, April 12, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Kelly Penton officiating. Internment followed in the Bonnie Cemetery in Angie.

A visitation was held at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10:30 a.m. until the service time at 2 p.m.
