Luther Miley

Luther “Luke” Miley passed away on Tuesday morning, April 2, 2019, at Resthaven Living Center in Bogalusa, at the age of 85. Luke retired from the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office after 35 years of service. Luke enjoyed serving the citizens of Washington Parish. He was also a wartime veteran with the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his son, Alan Miley and his wife Lisa of Varnado; two grandsons, Alex Miley and his wife May of Varnado, and Michael Miley and his wife Brittney of Lacombe; one brother, Elder Mason Miley of Pine; and one sister, Macelle Miley (Cogburn) of Texas.
Luke was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Estelle Miley; parents, Luther and Margaret Miley; and nine siblings, Henry Miley, Chinecy Miley Toney, Lucille Bowman, Irene Miley Hunt, Inez Miley Sandifer, Dorothy Miley Dominguez, Houston Miley, Gladys Miley Brooks and Kinch Miley. Luke was a devoted husband, father, grandfather.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home in Bogalusa on Thursday, April 4, at 11 a.m., with Elder Dewayne Ball officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Rester Cemetery in Angie.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 3, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. This will include the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard.
