Lester Crosby

Mr. Lester “Brother” Crosby passed away at the age of 73 on Sunday, March 31, 2019, at Good Samaritan in Franklinton.

Lester united in holy matrimony to Nellie Crosby on Dec. 24, 1966, and to this union a daughter was born.

Lester leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter, Cornelia Denise (Willie Jr.) Smith of Milwaukee, Wis.; three grandchildren, Darius Crosby, Willie D. Smith III, and Jasmin Smith, all of Milwaukee; eight great-grandchildren, Jayda, Katelynn, Dariah, Tylen, Darius Jr., Cameron, Dwayne, and Draya, all of Milwaukee; one brother, Jerry Crosby of New Orleans; a very special niece, Theresa James; a step son, who he helped raise, Lester Javon Crosby; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Aylee and David Charles Crossley Sr.; three sisters, Flora Lee Crosby Malone, Delorise Crossley, and Hester Pierce; and four brothers, Henry, Robert, Willie, and David Charles Crossley Sr.

Visitation will be Friday, April 5, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., followed by the services at Sweet Rest Missionary Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with Pastor Norwert Hills Jr. officiating.
