Bobby Ray Pierce

Bobby Ray Pierce was born July 29, 1937, and died March 16, 2019. He was 82 years old. He was born and died in Varnado.

His mother is Sadie Crain Pierce, and his father is Robert Pierce. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1954, and served for six years.

He received his bachelor’s degree at Southeastern Louisiana University, his master’s degree at William Carey, and his doctorate at Baptist Christian.

His wife is Marion J, Pierce, daughter is Christi Pierce Moore, and son is Thomas Pierce.

He had a long educational history, serving as the principal of Bowling Green School, the principal of a school in Corpus Christi, Texas, and the principal of Pine High School. He was also a substance abuse coordinator, clinical hypnotherapist, and overseer of the discipline program, until he retired from the Washington Parish Schools in 2002.

After retirement, he enjoyed extensive travel and maintained a summer home in Hendersonville, N.C.

He relished home and family and his grandchildren, and also fishing with Rusty and Jean Stewart.

He is survived by his wife, Marion J. Pierce; children, Christi Pierce Moore and Thomas Pierce; and grandchildren, Savannah Moore and Collin Pierce. He was always loved, never forgotten and will be forever missed.
