Aurilus Perkins Sr.

Aurilus Perkins Sr., 82, passed away seven days before his 83rd birthday, on March 13, 2019.

Raised in Lee’s Creek, he lived most of his life in Inkster, Mich., where he retired from Ford Motor Corporation and served as chairman of the Deacon Board at New Birth Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rochelle Perkins; one son, Aurilus Perkins Jr.; four daughters, Vivian Pruitt, Barbara Perkins, Rhonda P. Edwards and Deidra Perkins; one brother, Eugene (Delores) Perkins Jr.; two sisters, Katie P. Catron and Callie P. White; one grandson, Aurilus Perkins III; two granddaughters, Torie Elzey and Nefertari Edwards; and numerous family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Arlief Perkins; two sisters and five brothers.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 22, at the Cook-Richmond Funeral Home located at 638 Columbia St. in Bogalusa, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m., with a family hour from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, located at 841 E. Sixth St. in Bogalusa, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, with visitation from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Interment will be in Duffy Memorial Gardens in Lee’s Creek.
