YouthBuild Bogalusa (YBB), an educational program of Northshore Technical Community College, was recently awarded $945,882 by the Employment Training Administration of the U.S. Dept. of Labor to continue this vital program that serves the community’s young adults.

“YouthBuild Bogalusa is a vital safety net for those young people who do not complete high school,” said Danielle Keys, YBB director. “It is through the success of this grant award that we are able to maintain a pillar in our community for young people. The U.S. Dept. of Labor funding process is very competitive, and our reward is clearly correlated to the successful outcomes of our nationally recognized program.

“I would like to commend my YouthBuild staff for all their support and overall commitment to YouthBuild Bogalusa.”

YBB is an educational program for youth ages 16-24 that have not completed high school. The mission of YBB is to provide a supportive environment that empowers youth to achieve their academic, personal and workplace readiness goals, while building a sense of community through public service and residential construction for low-income families.
