Work began on Cassidy Park in December and Director of Public Works James Hall expects it open in about three months from now.
Hall said work in the park is just slowing because the city has outside jobs they are getting done as well.
“We’re working around that,” Hall said.
“We’ll be quicker this time than we were last time (2016 flood) because there’s not quite as much damage,” Hall said.
Hall said they lost about 1,000 feet of the creek bank. He said they are sowing the banks back up with concrete.
Hall said there was grass over the park before the December flood, but now about 80 percent is sand, so they are checking for holes daily.
He also said they getting sand out of the electrical boxes.
