Ms. Barbara Ann Beard of Poplarville, Miss., passed away Feb. 4, 2019, in Covington, at the home of her daughter Delindy Sharp and with St. Tammany Hospice Services. Barbara was born in Ocala, Fla., on May 6, 1944.

She was the daughter of Wade Hampton Beard of Hagerstown, Md., and Doretta Christine Beard of Irvine, Ky. Barbara was raised in Hagerstown and later lived in La Plata, Md., and Poplarville. She had previously worked at WBOX radio station in Bogalusa, and had emceed many annual bluegrass festivals in Bush, at Five Lakes. She also worked at Baker Main products in Poplarville.

She is survived by one daughter, Delindy Bigony Sharp; and three granddaughters, Crystal Lynn Rogers of Ellisville, Miss., Bobbie Jo Rogers Poole of Beaufort, S.C., and Mary Elizabeth Rogers Smith of Bryson City, N.C. Barbara also has five great-grandchildren, Lakin and Christian Sherman, Jayden Hoffer, Jacob Poole and Branson Smith; in addition to one brother, Donald F. Beard of Hagerstown. She had been previously married to Donald M. Bigony and Adolph H. Klein.

She is preceded in death by sisters, Phyllis Emma Beard Sonner Dalton from Bristol, Va., Victoria Kay Beard from Sabillasville, Md., and Mary Joann Saalfeld Schiele from Ohio.
