Mark Anthony Braud, 23, a resident of Ruby Taylor Road in Franklinton, was arrested Monday by the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office on a theft charge, according to WPSO Chief Deputy Mike Haley. He was released the following day after posting at $3,500 bond.

Braud’s arrest was the result of an investigation by WPSO detectives after several complaints were filed reporting that Braud would advertise for sale vehicles that he did not own, Haley said. After receiving payment for a vehicle, he then would allegedly fail to deliver the vehicle to the purchaser.

Haley said that the investigation into Braud’s alleged illegal activities continues. Any person who has been a victim of Mark Anthony Braud is asked to contact Washington Parish detectives at 1-985-661-6024.

“Always know the person with whom you are doing business,” Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal said. “Never give another person your hard-earned money until you are satisfied that the transaction is legitimate.

“Honest citizens of Washington Parish never deserve to be defrauded by a crook. Always be alert when conducting a monetary transaction.”
