Rayfus Marshall

Elder Rayfus Marshall was born Sept. 25, 1941, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Tommie (Eloise Brumfield) Marshall Sr. and departed from his earthly house to his home in glory at the age of 77 on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Franklinton.

Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 31, at the chapel of Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m.

The funeral service will be held Friday, Feb. 1, 2019, at 1 p.m. at Greater Payne A.M.E. Church in Folsom, with the Rev. Mary Guy, pastor, and Bishop Michael Briggs, eulogist.

He leaves to cherish his memories: one son, Willie Ray (Becky) Marshall of Austin, Texas; five daughters, Joyce (Larry) Williams of Austin, Viola (Jessie) Barnes of Franklinton, Patricia (Melton) James of Loranger, Cynthia (Willie) Marshall of Lacombe, and Sharon Marshall of Boston, Mass.; one brother, Edward Marshall of Mandeville; three sisters, Willie Mae (S.J.) Brown of West Covina, Calif., Rita Ann (Bruce) Dillon of Folsom, and Delores Marshall of Franklinton; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jerry Dean Marshall; father, Tommie Marshall Sr., and mother, Eloise Marshall; one sister, Lillie Mae Marshall; three brothers, Leroy Marshall, Tommie Marshall Jr. and James Marshall; and one great-grandchild, Jushtin R. Kemp.

Interment will be in Folsom Cemetery.
