Katherine Harrington Weary “Kat” was called home on Monday, Jan. 14, 2019, in Bogalusa.

She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories, her loving husband, Johnny Ree Weary (Black); four children she loved unconditionally, Cedric (Maketha) Harrington (Peanut), Kenyate (Judy) Harrington (Stumpy), Lashanda Harrington (Tweety) (Lashanda Kennedy) and Byron (Latia Myers) Harrington (Lucky); her niece and nephew she raised, Sharonda Roberts, Damion Robinson, Jessica McClinton, and Le’shune McClinton. She also leaves to mourn Damion Moss, Seletha, Yolanda, and Tamira. She loved and cherished her eight grandchildren, Kenyate Jr., Keyuna, Ken’trevious, Samaj, Cedriyah, Naviyah, Cedric and Michael; one sister, Kimberly McClinton; one brother, Andrew Harrington; one uncle, Willie (Beris) McCray; two aunts, Josephine McCray and Hilda Ann Jones; a special sister, Sandra McCray Forbes “Mini Me;” a special cousin, Sharmika McCray Godbolt; sisters-in-law, Hazel Harrington, Juanita Spikes, Estelle Jones; and her brothers-in-law, Ellis (Doris) Weary and Johnny (Fat) Weary (Arlene). She also has a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, youth, church family and friends who will forever treasure her remembrances.

She was preceded in death by father, Andrew Harrington Sr.; her loving mother, Curtis Harrington; brothers, Gerald Harrington and Micheal Harrington; aunt, Shirley Freeman; uncle, Walter Charles “Dub” McCray; brother-in-law, Jessie McClinton; and a great niece, Nikalyla Westbrook.

Visitation was on Friday, Jan. 18, at Crain and Sons Funeral Home Chapel from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.

The funeral service will be Saturday, Jan. 19, at 1 p.m. at Sweet Beulah Baptist Church with the Rev. James Magee, pastor, and Pastor Alton Manning officiating. Interment will be at the Bogalusa Cemetery.
