Jimmy Wilson

Jimmy E. Wilson, born July 6, 1948, passed away at St. Tammany Parish Hospital on Jan. 16, 2019, surrounded by his family. He was 70 years old.

He enjoyed working in the movie theater industry for nearly 20 years and was the first manager of Trackside Cinema in Bogalusa. In later years, he worked as a cable technician for Washington Cablevision. He especially loved working with youth at the YMCA, where he was an amateur boxing trainer with the Magic City Boxing Club.

He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Alison Fournet Wilson of Bogalusa, and their two sons, Kevin Wilson of Baton Rouge, and Jeffrey Wilson of Bogalusa; two sons from a previous marriage, Patrick Wilson of Central, and Tommy Wilson and his wife Bonnie of Stanberry, Mo.; his mother, Hazel Gregoire, and her husband Roger of Central; a brother, Ricky Wilson of Central; three step-brothers, Gene Gregoire and his wife Rhonda of Baton Rouge, Darryl and Billy Gregoire, both of Central; two sisters, Linda Fuller of Varnado, and Sheila Nelson and her husband Mike of Brewton, Ala.; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Wilson of Bolivia, Tenn., Hannah Wilson of Sulphur, Reme, Liam, and Delila Wilson, all of Stanberry; and numerous other family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Ramsey Wilson; two sisters, Joyce Munizza and Debbie Fuller; his mother-in-law, Dianne C. Herring; his father-in-law, Walter Joe Fournet Sr.; and brother-in-law, John W. Fuller.

Visitation was held Monday, Jan. 21, at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home beginning at 10 a.m., until the service time at noon. Services were conducted by the Rev. Billy Pierce, assisted by the Rev. Fred Brumfield and Carlos Herd. Pallbearers included Stanley Hobgood, Jimbo Stevenson, Johnny Crain Jr., David Wascom, Mike Evans, and Brett Evans. Interment followed in the Hillview Memorial Gardens, located in Bogalusa.
