Peggy S. Varnado, a resident of Bogalusa, passed away on Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa, at the age of 67. She was born in Bogalusa on June 6, 1951.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include her daughters, Terri Varnado, Tammi (Robert) Dobson, and Brittany L. Varnado Carnegie; three grandchildren, Zack Boone, Hunter Boone, and Evan Boone; four brothers, Bobby (Judy) Sanders, Billy (Trish) Sanders, Roger Sanders, and Mike (Diane) Sanders; two sisters-in-law, Lynn Varnado and Matilda Varnado. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Rodney Varnado; her parents, Jack and Joyce Sanders; her father and mother-in-law, Carl “Buck” and Rosemary Varnado; sister-in-law, Malinda Smith; son-in-law, Chris Carnegie; and special nephew, Joey Smith.

Services celebrating her life will be at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Sunday, Jan. 13. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will be on Monday, Jan. 14, at 10 a.m., with the funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. The Rev. Chad Jenkins and the Rev. Tommy Pittman will officiate. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
