Captain Don Spiers has announced that the Krewe of MCCA will begin its 39th anniversary season with the revealing of the King and Queen XXXIX and the presentation of their royal court, at the annual event to be held on Saturday evening at the American Legion Home.

2018 King Stamper Scott and Queen Hope Williams will retire as MCCA monarchs, and the captain will reveal the 2019 King and Queen and Royal Court to officially begin the Washington Parish Carnival Season.

The 2019 MCCA theme is “It’s About Time.” Floats and costumes will depict many “timely” matters, including “Doing Time,” “Rio Carnival Time,” “Somewhere in Time,” “Time Flies” and 30 more.

The 39th MCCA Carnival Parade will commence at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 2.
