Chief Deputy Mike Haley of the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office said that authorities are investigating an armed robbery that took place early Friday morning in which a store employee was badly shot.

Haley said that at approximately 4:20 a.m. on Friday, at the JZ Quick Stop located on Louisiana Highway 21 outside the city limits of Bogalusa, a call was placed to 911 concerning an “armed robbery and shooting.”

“The employee was shot and is now fighting for his life,” Haley said Friday morning. “The victim is currently at University Medical Center in New Orleans.

“Video shows two possible females and male suspect in a newer model light colored passenger car pull into the convenience store where an altercation with the employee ended in gunfire.”

Haley said that there might be possible witnesses who were present during the incident.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the WPSO Criminal Investigation Division at 985-661-2024.
