David Charles Crossley Jr., affectionately known as “Shank,” was born on March 4, 1936, in Jackson, Miss., to the late Alee Taylor and David Charles Crossley Sr. He departed this earthly world on Dec. 23, 2018, at his home.

David leaves to cherish his memories, three sons, Bing (Lorena), Charles, and James Crosby; a daughter, Linda Crosby; brothers, Jerry and Lester Crossley; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alee Taylor and David Charles Crossley Sr.; a daughter, Casandra Crosby; three brothers, Henry, Robert and Willie Crosby; and three sisters, Flora Lee Crosby, Delorise Crossley and Hester Pierce.

Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 4, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 5, at 11 a.m. at Sweet Rest Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Norwert Hills Jr., pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Sweet Rest Cemetery.
