Daphne Reeves

Daphne Letitia Reeves departed this life on Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2018, at the age of 48.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Natasha Nichol Reeves; her stepfather, Louis Davis; one aunt and three uncles.

Daphne Letitia Reeves was born on Jan. 11, 1970, in Independence to Amelia Reeves. She gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was baptized by the Rev. Samuel L. Harvey of Second New Light Baptist Church. Daphne later joined Carver Desire Baptist Church.

She was a resident of New Orleans for 35 years. Daphne later moved to Bogalusa. She received her high school education at Carver Senior high school in New Orleans. She then continued her education at Rutledge Community College, where she received her Nursing Assistant Certification.

Daphne was an employee of Chateau De Notre Dame. She loved caring for her patients. She was a loving person with a child like spirit. She found joy in watching her favorite football team, the New Orleans Saints, watching movies, and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her loving and devoted mother, Amelia Reeves; her aunt, Celestine Jones; two special cousins, Theophile Jones and Andre Reeves; a stepsister, Patricia Davis; two nieces, Ashley and Chelsea Davis; a special friend, Shnika Morgan; and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home, located at 2000 Washington Street in Franklinton, with Eld. Lynwood Thompson officiating. Interment will be held at Sweet Home Church Cemetery in Franklinton.
