A Franklinton man, wanted in connection with arson in September, was taken into custody on Saturday, according to information from the State Fire Marshal’s (SFM) Office. He allegedly set a house on fire with four people inside, according to SFM officials.
Jamie Guidry, 47, was arrested by Franklinton police on Saturday in an unrelated case. He was also booked on the SFM outstanding warrant for four counts of aggravated arson.
In September, the SFM investigated a house fire in the 1600 block of Parker Street in Franklinton. Four people had been asleep inside of the home when the fire was discovered, according to SFM officials.
Investigators deemed the fire to be intentional and incendiary and determined that Guidry was a suspect.
SFM officials said that Guidry eluded arrest for several months until he was seen by Franklinton police Saturday, and he was placed under arrest after a foot pursuit.
Guidry was booked into the Washington Parish Jail on the charges of fugitive other jurisdiction, resisting an officer/flight on foot, unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, possession of drug paraphernalia, and aggravated arson (four counts).
