The Louisiana Department of Education recently released Performance Profile Score for publicly funded early childhood learning facilities, and several Bogalusa agencies made the cut.
Performance Profiles measure the quality of publicly funded early childhood sites serving at-risk children ages birth-five for 2017-2018. Ultimately, these profiles will help families make informed choices for their children. These profiles support providers to improve the quality of early childhood care and education to help prepare all children for kindergarten.
Bogalusa Head/Early Start and Sandy’s Kidz Learning Centers were named to the Birth to Three Honor Roll, for their high performance scores with our youngest learners. Agape Learning Center was named to the Excellence Honor Roll, which recognizes all “Excellent” sites with no “Unsatisfactory” scores at any domain.
All four of the learning facilities in the Network have continued to show steady improvement since this process began.
“In Bogalusa, we are building strong foundations, which help our children be more successful in future grades,” Bogalusa Superintendent Lisa Tanner said.
There are several incentives for sites to improve their performance as measured by the Performance Profiles. For all program types, there are three Early Childhood Honor Rolls that recognize excellence and improvement in a public, positive way for all programs statewide.
- The Excellence Honor Roll recognizes all Excellent sites with no Unsatisfactory scores at any domain.
- The Birth to Three Honor Roll recognizes sites with high performance for the state’s youngest learners.
- The Top Gains Honor Roll recognizes sites with more than one point of growth from the practice year to this year.
