Based on unofficial results released from the Louisiana Secretary of State’s office at 10 p.m. Tuesday night, it appears as though the race for Bogalusa’s mayor will not be decided until December.

With all 15 precincts reporting in the city, incumbent mayor Wendy Perrette led the way with 1,105 votes (35.08 percent). In second place was Doug Ritchie with 586 votes (18.60 percent), followed by James “Mack” McGehee with 573 votes (18.19 percent).

Tina Ratliff had 523 votes (16.60 percent) and Brian McCree finished with 363 votes (11.52 percent).

Because no candidate earned a full majority (50 percent plus at least one vote), there will be a runoff. The top two candidates advance to the runoff election Saturday, Dec. 8.
