Grand jury indicts 2 men of child rape

Two Washington Parish men were indicted by grand juries on Wednesday, and each are suspects in cases involving sexual crimes against victims under the age of 13, according to District Attorney Warren Montgomery.

Montgomery reported that a Washington Parish grand jury indicted Jerry LaVelle Vince, 43, of Bogalusa, on a charge of aggravated rape of a victim under 13.

Vince is accused of raping a girl, who was 9 or 10 years old at the time of the alleged incident in 2013. The defendant also has a pending molestation of a juvenile case in St. Tammany Parish.

Assistant District Attorney Ysonde Boland presented the case to the grand jury.

Montgomery also reported that a grand jury indicted Frederick Washington, 32, of Franklinton, of first-degree rape of a victim under 13.

Washington is accused of raping a girl several years ago when she was about 9 years old.
