Gregory Crain

Mr. Gregory Crain passed away at the age of 65 on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018, at Clarity Hospice in Baton Rouge.

Gregory was a high school graduate of Southern University Laboratory School in 1970. He was a member of the Southern University Marching Band and he graduated from Southern University in 1975, where he received scholarships in band and baseball, as well as a full business academic scholarship.

He also worked at Exxon as well as Metropolitan Life Insurance. Gregory was a person who could always put a smile on your face.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his children, Gregory Montrel (Adrianna) Crain, Garlan McDonald Crain, Germaine Marquise Crain, Garmar Maurice (Yvette) Crain and Raven Crain; one god-child, Cherrie Crain; four grandchildren, Brandon Lindsey, Hannah Crain, Gewel and Garmar Crain II; one uncle, Brisco H. Crain; and one aunt, Valdora (Joseph) Snedecor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. McDonald and Dalrene Crain; and two brothers, Cedric and Byron Crain.

The funeral service will be held at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton on Friday, Nov. 2, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Terrence August officiating. Interment will follow in Sweet Home Cemetery.
