J.M. Rankin passed away on Monday, Oct. 15, 2018, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Franklinton, at the age of 77. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Bogalusa.

J.M. is survived by his loving spouse, Paulette Thomas Rankin of Bogalusa; one son, Johnny Ray Rankin and his wife Wendy of Slidell; one daughter, Vicky Jurado of Metairie; and one sister, Mary Ethel Rushing of Salem, Miss. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Sara Nicole Rankin, Alexis Sierra Rankin, Aleyha Savanah Rankin and Kyle Autrey Rankin; and also numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attended the services at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 1 p.m. with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. Services will be officiated by the Rev. Mark Murlock, assisted by the Rev. Fred Brumfield. Interment will immediately follow at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
