Odre Miller

Odre Miller was born March 28, 1948 in Columbia, Miss., to Bud Miller and Lue Russell. He grew up in the south where he met his first wife, Sarah, and they were blessed with a son, Kelvin Miller; as time passed he had developed a love for auto mechanics and moved to California. Odre had always been his own boss and owned his own business in the Los Angeles area where he met his second wife, Diane, and then was blessed with a daughter, Odra, and a son, Odre. He returned to Louisiana in the late 80s, where he met his wife Irene.

On Oct. 5, 2018, at 10:30 p.m., the Lord called him home and he received his wings.

He leaves behind three children, Kelvin L. Miller (Renee), Odra Miller and Odre Miller Jr.; one brother and four sisters, James O. Griffin (Annie) of Missouri City, Texas, Albertha Echols of Sacramento, Calif., Mitzi Cunningham of Los Angeles, Calif., Andrette Ramirez (Vernessa) and Cynthia Redman (Oley) of Bogalusa; 17 grandkids and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lue H. Griffin and father, Bud Miller; his grandmother, Bertha Mark; uncle, Booker T. Craft; and niece, Shirley Echols.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Oct. 22, at the chapel of Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Charles Perkins officiating.

Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Bogalusa is in charge of arrangements. Interment will be in Duffy Cemetery in Lee’s Creek.
