Mrs. Pamela D. Henke died on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, in Bogalusa.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Gary Henke; daughter, Shauna Henke; granddaughter, Lilly Ingle; and her brother, David T. Duke.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Beatrice and Emmette Duke; her sister, Novella Duke; and her brother, Emmette George Duke.

A loving mother and wife, she held many jobs as her husband’s military career took them around the country. She was an active lobbyist for military spouses and getting support for them. She was a teacher and valued member of the churches she belonged to. Upon her husband’s retirement, they returned to Bogalusa and she worked at Charity Hospital in the ER and other positions before retiring to the job she loved most, caretaker for her granddaughter, which she enjoyed until the end.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 29, at 10 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church at 135 Rio Grande St. in Bogalusa.
