Michael J. Clayton passed away on Sept. 9, 2018, at Lakeview Regional Medical, at the age of 65. Michael was a longtime member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, and longtime resident of Bogalusa.

Michael is a U.S. Army veteran who proudly served his country.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Stogner Clayton, of many years. He is also survived by his loving mother, Rita Clayton of Bogalusa.

He is also survived by one son, Eli Sterlyn Clayton of Bogalusa; and one stepson, Otis Leo Ewell Jr. and his wife Christy of Bogalusa.

He is also survived by three daughters, Michele Clayton of Franklinton, Denise Sexson and her husband Jeremy of Sea Side, Calif., and Bridget Stogner of Bogalusa; one step-daughter, Phyllis Ewell; two brothers, Kenneth Clayton of Bogalusa, and John Clayton and his wife Terri of Bogalusa; and two sisters, Effie Clayton of Bogalusa, and Mary Nell Clayton of Bogalusa.

Michael was the loving grandfather of seven, Breanna Brumfield, Matthew Sexson, Oliver Sexson, Madison Busby, Chloe Busby and Zachary Ewell; and the uncle to one niece, Megan Clayton.

Michael is preceded in death by his father, Murphy J. Clayton Jr.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend services in the chapel at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home on Saturday, Sept. 15, at 2 p.m. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., until the service time. Officiating will be Mark Morelock and Scott Breland. Interment will immediately follow at Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery.
