City issuing survey to some residents

The city of Bogalusa will be issuing surveys to some of its citizens later this month, according to Public Works Director James Hall.
Hall said that the surveys would be presented through door-to-door visits on Saturday, Sept. 15, and Sunday, Sept. 16, starting at 8 a.m. both days. The surveys will be for residents who live in the areas of Pleasant Hill, Richardson Town, Martin Luther King Drive, East Fourth Street and First Avenue at Bogalusa Creek.
The city of Bogalusa is seeking a $1.3 million grant through the Local Community Development Block Grant (LCDBG) program. This money would be used for “Existing and Rehabilitated Sewer System” work in the surveyed communities.
“These are the areas of town that the grant would affect,” Hall said. “It is very important that we get responses from these surveys.”
The survey asks a variety of questions similar to those seen on census forms. Questions asked include head of household, household income range, number of people in the house, and racial identity of those residents.
