Joe Leo Crain Sr., 72, passed away at his Franklinton home on Thursday, Aug. 30, surrounded by his family.
Joe was a 1963 graduate of Pine High School and remained a loyal Raider fan for the rest of his life. As a doting grandfather, he particularly enjoyed watching his grandsons play Raider baseball and basketball and his granddaughters cheer and play softball. Another passion of Mr. Joe’s was LSU football, and at the time of his passing, he was anticipating another season of Tiger football.
As the owner and operator of Napa Auto Parts in Franklinton for over 30 years, he was a respected member of his community and loyal friend who could always be counted on to help when anyone needed it. He prided himself in running a business that served his customers and his community with friendly, dependable service.
While Mr. Joe was a man of many interests and passions, none came close to the love and devotion that he showed for his wife of 50 years, Glenda Seal Crain. Their relationship was a source of inspiration to all of those who knew them and witnessed their commitment to each other and to their family. Mr. Joe was a member of Central Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, and his Christian faith was the center of his life and the basis for his outstanding character.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda Seal Crain; son, Joey Crain; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Bryan Nave; grandchildren, Connor Holmes, Kaitlin Nave, Ian Turner, Zoe’ Crain, Elizabeth Turner and Jace Crain; brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Martha Crain; sisters and a brother-in-law, Vivalene Branch, Sue Burris, Hulene and Daniel Bryant; sisters-in-law, Flora Overstreet, Christine Seal and Elsie Crain; and also numerous nieces and nephews.
