Johnny D. Williams passed from this life to his eternal home on Aug. 26, 2018.

Johnny truly loved God, life, friends and family. His No. 1 mission in life was to serve God and help others. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, where he remained faithful. He loved singing in the choir and any position he was needed.

Johnny served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a member of the American Legion. He retired from BellSouth after 35 years of service. He enjoyed working outdoors and became a jack of all trades. Johnny found his later in life mission visiting the nursing home twice a week.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; his children, Scott Miley, and Bryan Miley; his daughters-in-law, Michelle Miley and Misti Wheat; five grandchildren, Justin Williams, Trevor, Taylor, Ashton, and Abbie Miley; and great-grandchildren, Jackson and Julez Williams.

He was preceded in death by his son, James “Jimmy” Daryl Williams; parents, Martin and Eva Williams; brothers, Eugene and Van Williams; and sisters, Gloria Hetzfield, Myra Koch, and Sarah Williams.
