Jerry Washington was born on Dec. 5, 1937, to Bessie and William Washington in Frnaklinton. He departed this life on Aug. 14, 2018. He was 80 years old.
He leaves to cherish his memories: four daughters, Gina Westbrook of Denham Springs, Cherly Vanessa Stewart of Los Angeles, Calif., Binica Giddends of Georgia, Ashley Washington of Houston, Texas, Damass Giddens of Georgia; his grandchildren, LaQuaris Westbrook, Sonya Davison, Sundra Davison, Latonya Lopez, Tasha Stewart, Lanaya Stewart, Kamari Washington, Jordyn Franklin, Jaylien Franklin, Justin Franklin; his great-grandchild, Avery Lopez; his siblings, two sisters, Marie Moore of Franklinton, Barbara May of Angie; a special niece who helped to care for him, Dee Dee; two sisters-in-law, Irmateen Washington of California, Ollie Jean Allen of Franklinton; his caretaker and landlord, Benny Ray James; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bessie and William Washington; two brothers, George and William “Willie” Washington; and one sister, Josephine Washington.
The funeral service will be Saturday, Aug. 18, at 3 p.m. at Cook-Richmond Funeral Home in Franklinton, located at 938 Cleveland St.
The repast will be at 505 13th St., at the home of Dee Dee.
