Hoyle Griffin

Hoyle N. Griffin, born Aug. 31, 1928, went home to be with the Heavenly Father on Aug. 10, 2018, at the age of 89. Hoyle was an employee at the Grocery Bag Division for Crown Zellerbach until it closed, a Volkswagen Mechanic and was past owner of NAPA Automotive, formerly known as G.E. Thomas here in Bogalusa. Hoyle was a member and Deacon at the First Baptist Church of Bogalusa.

He is survived by he loving wife of 70 years, Carrie Morgan Griffin of Bogalusa; two sons, Alan Griffin and his wife Trudy of Ocean Springs, Miss., and David N. Griffin of Murrysville, Pa.; one grandchild, Christa Turner; three great-grandchildren, Daetyn, Turner, Laekyn Turner and Sam Turner; and also with numerous nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee and Edna Huffman Griffin; a brother, John L. Griffin; and a sister, Betty McGinnis.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, Aug. 12, at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home beginning at 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., and will resume Monday morning, Aug. 13, after 8 a.m. until the service time at 11 a.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Bob Adams and assisted by the Rev. Greg Whaley and Bro. Jimmy Byrd. Interment will follow in the Ponemah Cemetery.
