Billy Wardell Cothern passed away on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018, at Resthaven Living Center in Bogalusa, at the age of 77. He was born in Bogalusa on Oct. 19, 1940.

He is survived by three sons, Mike (Joy) Cothern of Bogalusa, Craig (Angela) Cothern of Angie, and Bryan (Melanii) Cothern; two brothers, Doy Cothern of Bogalusa and Harold Cothern of Natchez, Miss.; one sister, Irene Wilson of Kingswood, Texas; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Hennessy; his parents, Porter and Rosa Cothern; three brothers, Ward Cothern, Walter Cothern and Sonny Cothern; three sisters, Era Creel, Vera Galloway and Nora Lee Cates; and one granddaughter, Shanda Cothern.

Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa is in charge of his arrangements. There will be a graveside service at Ponemah Cemetery on Friday, Aug. 10, at 10 a.m.
