On Monday, July 30, Parish President Richard “Ned” Thomas Jr., met with State Sen. Beth Mizell and donated $500 to help with the expense to bring “The Wall That Heals” to Washington Parish.

The Wall That Heals is a replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. and has a mobile education center. The Wall is 375 feet long and will be at the Franklinton Fairgrounds from Nov. 15-18.

There will be a motorcycle escort of the tractor-trailer bringing The Wall to Franklinton on Nov. 13 at noon; please see the website for details on this opportunity to show our appreciation to veterans. The website www.thewallfranklinton.com, has details of the visit and a place to sign up for volunteers.

Schools may also register for field trips, at the website. Donations may be made on the website and the community support is what makes this visit possible, and much appreciated.
