Lolie King

Lolie King, born April 9, 1940, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018, at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa, at the age of 78.

Lolie, a resident of Varnado, was a beloved mother, grandmother and while she was still able, loved to cook and she was well known for her delicious country cooking. She was also a master with a crochet needle. In her younger years she worked at Travis’ Grocery in Bogalusa. She loved spending time with family and always had a joke to crack.

Lolie is survived by her children, Darlene Ezell (Johnny) of Varnado, Bea Eubanks (Chuck) of Columbus, Miss., David King (Karol) of Robert, and Darryl King (Suzanne) of Varnado; grandchildren, Jennifer Dean (Cody), Jeremy Eubanks (Candice), Cody King, Dustin King, Deavan King, Kayla Ostarly (Thomas), Trent Eubanks (Taylor), Amanda Jarrell (Jeffery), Jeffery Ikerd II, Corbin Ikerd and Shawntell King; and 11 great-grandchildren and one to soon arrive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Manson and Edith Jenkins; husband, W.D. King; son, William Dawson King Jr.; brother, Hardy Jenkins; sister, Hester Hartfield; and grandchildren, Johnny Ezell Jr. and Kevin Ezell.

There was a visitation at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa, on Friday, Aug. 3, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, Aug. 4, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home at 9 a.m. and continue until the funeral service begins at 11 a.m. The Rev. Chad Jenkins will officiate. Interment will follow at Spencer Cemetery in Enon.
