The Washington Men’s Club is a 501(c)(3) organization. Part of its goals and objectives are to help aid and assist the youths of Washington Parish.
The Men’s Club, in conjunction with other organizations, is sponsoring a back-to-school summit. The teen summit is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 18, in Cassidy Park. The summit is for all Washington Parish students between 12 and 18 years old. The time will be from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Club members and organizers plan to provide food, entertainment and both male and female motivational speakers. Groups that have been invited include the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office, the Bogalusa and Franklinton police departments, the D.A. offices, and others. Club members also plan to provide for or assist with backpacks and school supplies for all students.
The club is asking for donations and support from all businesses, churches, clubs or organizations and individuals, to assist in this effort.
