A Texas man was arrested last week, in connection with a rape incident that took place in Franklinton, according to officials with the Franklinton Police Department.

According to FPD officials, the FPD began an investigation into the alleged rape in September of 2016, and there was a break in the case this month. On Friday, July 20, detectives arrested Frederick Washington of Tulia, Texas.

Washington was extradited from Huntsville, Texas, where he had been incarcerated on unrelated charges.

He is being charged in Washington Parish with first-degree rape and oral sexual battery. After his booking, he was transported to the Washington Parish Jail.

FPD officials said that any additional information is being withheld, due to the age of the alleged victim.
