Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Passman, 56, a lifelong resident of the Bonner Creek community, died Monday, July 16, 2018, following an automobile accident.

Beth graduated from Franklinton High School in 1979 and later was trained in office systems at Sullivan Vocational School. She worked in clerical work at several offices around town through the years. Beth was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She enjoyed genealogy and had recently completed a great deal of research on a great-uncle killed during World War II. Beth, alongside her family, was a charter member of the Bonner Creek Volunteer Fire Department and served as a firefighter of Bonner Creek VFD and Washington Parish Fire District #1, as it is known today. She proudly served with the Bonner Creek VFD for 26 years, while also acting as secretary-treasurer for several years during that time.

She is survived by: parents, Daniel and Elaine Passman; brother and sister-in-law, David and Laquetta Passman; and uncles and aunts, Charles and Chris Sharp, and Jerry and Beverly Sharp.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Estus and Evelyn Sharp; paternal grandparents, Joe and Zula Passman; and an uncle, Eddie Sharp.

Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home on Thursday, July 19, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., and will continue after 9 a.m. on Friday, July 20. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 10 a.m. Friday, July 20, with Dr. Gene Richards and the Rev. Pete Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencer Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Breedlove, Mitchel Jenkins, Ronnie Seal, Kenny Powe, Alex Raine and Earl Davis.
