Emma Johnson

Emma Jean Johnson was born Sept. 22, 1949, to the late Jessie James and Lillie Ree Johnson. She departed this life on July 18, 2018, in Bogalusa.

She was baptized at a young age under the leadership of Pastor Herman Brown at Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church. Later in life, she united with Light of the World Deliverance Center under the leadership of Pastor Terri Angela Ruiz, where she served until her illness.

She was a graduate of Central Memorial High School Class of 1967.

Remaining to honor and hold her memories dear is William F. “Smitty” Smith; her sons, Kelton Lamant Johnson Sr. (Jemeka), William Frederick Johnson and Roderick Dewayne Johnson; her sister, Eva Mae Johnson; her niece, Ca’Sandra; nephew, Jamine; grandchildren, Divita, Kelsha, Kelton Jr., Ayana, Lyrie, Monché Ree, Rodrick, Cherish and Rome-Jamar; great-grandchildren, Tiara, Princess and Willie. She was ecstatic about meeting her unborn great-grandchildren, Jarrison and Sa’Kari, and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie James and Lillie Ree Johnson; and grandson, Ai’Jalon Xamie.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 26, at the chapel of Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 27, at the chapel of Crain and Sons Funeral Home at 11 a.m., with Minister Terri Ruiz, officiating.

Interment will be in the Bogalusa Cemetery
