SP4 Willie Clarence Thompson Jr. was born April 12, 1950, to the late Willie Clarence Jr. and Classie Mingo Thompson, and departed this life on Sunday, July 15, 2018.

He married the late Eleanor Ramsdell Thompson and was a member of Greater Center Baptist Church in Angie, under the leadership of Pastor Sidney Jones.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1970 until 1976, with an honorable discharge.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 22, at the chapel of Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m., followed by a family hour from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m.

Visitation will also be on Monday, July 23, from 10 a.m. until noon, followed by the funeral at noon at Greater Center Baptist Church in Angie, with pastor Sidney Jones officiating.

Interment will follow in the Thompson Cemetery in Angie.

He leaves to cherish his memories: June Wilene Ramsdell, who he reared as a daughter, of Covington; four sisters, Mary Lee Greely of Angie, Annie Pearl Thompson of Bogalusa, Augustine Anderson of Jamaica, N.Y., and Clarissa (Archie) McGowan, also of Angie; four brothers, Deck Z. (Evelyn) Thompson of Angie, Leonard R. Thompson of Varnado, Lorandy (Clara) Thompson of Varnado, and Homer Thompson of Angie; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Thompson; his parents, Willie Sr. and Classie Thompson; and three sisters, Eula M. Thompson, Betty J. Segura and Edna L. Thompson.
