Ayden Pounds, a resident of Bogalusa, is a Life Scout with Troop 2 in Picayune, Miss. He is currently working on his Eagle Scout Project, a community service requirement for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout.

This project is the cleanup and beautification of the Pounds-Poole Cemetery in Old River Estates. The workdays will be Saturday, July 21 and Saturday, Aug. 4 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. This will include cutting and trimming the grass, picking up limbs and debris, and cleaning of the headstones.

Any family members or volunteers wishing to assist in this effort are asked to bring work gloves, rakes, weed-eaters, mowers, and eye and ear protection (as needed). Cold ice water will be provided on site.

Sprayers and brushes will be provided for headstone cleaning, as well as lawn and leaf bags for debris and trash.

If anyone wishes to assist in this project or has questions about the project, call 985-732-1842, and ask for Ayden or Dustin Pounds.
