Herschel Dugan Sr.

Herschel Doy Dugan Sr., 92, passed away on July 11, 2018, at his residence in Bogalusa. He was a U.S. Vavy veteran, serving during World War II. He was also a member of ESM United Methodist Church, where he served as Head Usher for 48 years.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Augusta DeLaughter Dugan of Bogalusa; one son, Herschel Doy Dugan Jr. (Clelie) of Mandeville; one daughter, Maureen Gentry (Earl) of Spanish Fort, Ala.; and six grandchildren, Meghan Baxter (Ron), Erik Gentry, Erin Gentry, William Dugan, Thomas Dugan and Mary Grace Dugan.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George E. and Minnie White Dugan Sr.; brothers, Harold Smith, George Dugan Jr. and Maxwell Dugan; and sisters, Agnes Dugan, Maxine Roskowie and Gen Miller.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 14, at ESM United Methodist Church in Bogalusa, from 9 a.m. until time for services at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Ponemah Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Moon will officiate.
