The Bogalusa Scholarship Fund was created in 1999 through the generosity of the people who live in Washington Parish. The Northshore Community Foundation is able to award scholarships to Bogalusa High School students who want to pursue higher education through this generosity.

Takeyah Johnson, a recent graduate of Bogalusa High was selected as the 2018 Bogalusa Scholarship recipient of the total amount of $16,000 ($2,000 per semester over the next eight semesters.)

A member of the National Honors Society, she plans to attend Southeastern Louisiana University in the fall to pursue a career in physical therapy.
