Chester Hilliard

Chester Hilliard passed from this life the morning of June 22, 2018, after a gradual decline in health.
Chester was born in Jackson, Miss., on Nov. 12, 1953, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis (Berta Rea) Hilliard. They relocated to Bogalusa during his early childhood. He remained a loyal resident of Bogalusa until his passing.
He attended and was a Bogalusa High School Class of 1971 graduate and graduated from Southern University in Baton Rouge. He was employed for many years by the Bogalusa City Schools as a Teacher Assistant with Bogalusa High School, and he also worked for Bogalusa Medical Center. Chester was a faithful member of Sweet Beulah Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon.
The viewing of the remains will be Saturday, June 30, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Sweet Beulah Baptist Church, located at 1408 N. Roosevelt St. in Bogalusa. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at the church. The Rev. James Magee Sr. will be officiating. Interment will be at the Bogalusa Cemetery.
Cook-Richmond Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Hilliard and Berta Rea Hilliard; and one brother, Adam Hilliard.
Chester is survived by brothers, Mr. Stanley Hilliard (Wanda), of Arlington, Texas, and Mr. Barry Hilliard of Bogalusa. He leaves his everlasting mark on his brother, Mr. Julius Hunt of Bogalusa, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
