On Saturday, June 16, at 9:20 a.m. the Bogalusa Police Department received a call about a suspicious vehicle being at a residence in the 700 block of Huron Avenue, according to Maj. Percy Knight of the BPD.
“Upon arrival of BPD Patrolman Anthony Jones, he observed a vehicle parked under the carport of the residence,” Knight said. “Jones went to the rear of the residence and discovered the back door open. Jones then observed two male suspects maneuvering a refrigerator through the kitchen toward the rear door.”
The suspects were identified as Devon D. Moses, 38, of Angie, and James V. Thompson, 23, of Angie.
“Jones observed the hatchback to be open on the suspect’s vehicle with numerous computer and electronic equipment stack in the hatchback area,” Knight said. “Jones also observed a trash can lid sitting next to the vehicle that contained numerous copper wires and electrical cords in it.
“It was learned that the suspects entered the residence through an open window under the carport.
“Jones also learned that the homeowner was incarcerated in prison at the time of the burglary and the suspects, Moses and Thompson, didn’t have permission to be at the residence.”
Moses was placed under arrest and booked on the charge of simple burglary, probation hold and failure to appear in the Bogalusa City Court. Thompson was placed under arrest and booked on the charge of simple burglary.
