Babies are a bundle of joy

Oh, don’t y’all just love little babies, and their big sisters and brothers? I have to tell you that I find children’s honesty refreshing. Now, my family is getting ready to welcome a new baby girl into it, and Izzy is nothing but proud.

She tells anybody with ears about her “baby sister Sophia,” and she tells her Papa that she is sure Sophia will love him, even though he says he is no longer cute. Izzy wants to tell the world that she is 5 years old now, and that she’s got a little sister growing in her Mama’s belly. I find that stunningly honest.

Izzy doesn’t know about boasting or bragging, yet and I hope she never does so she can keep honest about her feelings. And they are grand. She is excited! But she’s not so sure about changing any of Sophia’s diapers!

And that also goes for baby animals of all kinds. Puppies, kittens, and baby birds, are among my favorites.

Don’t you love puppy or kitten breath? Or the way birds flap and stretch their wings before they are fledged?

And don’t you think that good as Izzy is, she isn’t thinking about circumstances? She feels great and she wants everybody to know it.

In fact, she can’t bring her baby up without getting excited, and that’s love, love, love — because Izzy loves her little sister without even having met her.

I hope she never learns jealousy. I hope she stays blissfully happy. I hope she lives long and prospers.

And I hope Brookie, Izzy, Sophia, John, and John’s Avery and Danny and I will live filled up with love forever more.
